Anyone know whats the best oven cleaner and how its used?

You can rub the inside of your oven with wet steel wool to remove the tough stuff, and then sprinkle baking soda throughout the oven. Let it sit for a few minutes, then just wipe it all clean with a wet rag…all done and no caustic chemicals!

Apart from a wipe with a clean damp cloth if the oven is only six months old it shouldn't require cleaning as almost all modern ovens are 'self clean'. Double check with the user manual before doing anything, this should tell you. I too have new ovens and I know the manual also specifically tells you how to get the glass out to clean 'in between' if splashes etc occur. Most glass doors are double or even triple glazed.

Most oven cleaners contain caustic soda which is brilliant for cleaning ovens but make sure you wear protective gloves and don't get it in your eyes. It can result in serious chemical burns if not used as directed. If you do get some on your skin wash it off immediately with lots and lots of water.
