impossible pc games are windows format and ps3 can't use any windows format software if it was easy to convert then all pc games would be available for ps3 but they need to be completely re-written in ps3 code to work with the sony OS , costing thousands of dollars it's like trying to use an xbox game in a wii

Well... There is a way... But it has limitations... If you install the "other OS" (Yellow-Dog Linux distro for PS3), you will be able to run emulators for several older consoles (Mame, NES, SNES, etc) and some DOS and Windows programs can run on Linux with some configuration. I've tinkered with this a bit. Some of the PS3 functions are limited (no graphics aceleration with the RSX locked in Linux) but you can have some fun with some fun "oldies". Not for beginners though... And if you own a "slim" PS3, there is no "Install Other OS" option... Have fun! :)
