To record in HD or HQ you will need a good capture card. Now these things go around from $80 to $300. Now any thing cheaper than that is really not that good. Many people say Dazzle is good but from personal experience i think you should save up to get one of these. http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ Dazzle may be good for novice recorders but it's child's play compared to that. It has an HDMI port which can record 1080i. If you don't know what that is. It means it's great. But if you are still indecisive on what to buy google "capture card" and do some research.
