How can i make sure my xbox 360 doesn't get the 3 red rings?

well it shouldent happen anymore that was when they first came out and when the 3 red lights appear it means theres a hardware failure somewhere and i dont even think it would be overheating either my white one only did once and i let it sit for 7 hours turned it on it was fine never happened again but that one broke so i got an elite and if it ever happens to ur xbox just send it to microsoft they fix it for free because the warrenty is for 3 years now and it will never happen again =)

I got the three red rings too and I think it was from the heat so that intercooler will probably help it, but if it does get the 3 lighted rings then you could call 18004myxbox and they will walk you through some stuff and if they can't get it to work over the phone they will send you a box that you put your 360 in it and send it to them and they will try to fix it. If they can't they'll send you a new console.

Microsoft wasn't even sure what caused it. I think it was the machines that were first released and made the first year. Mine tore up after only 5 months. At that time they only had a 90 day warranty. Boy was I pissed. Then when mine was a year old, they decided to extend the warranty to 1 year, still didn't help me. Finally in July, they extended the warranty to 3 years for the 3 red rings. I called them the first day, they sent me a box and packing material, I shipped mine off. Got it back in 2 weeks, and it works fine. So the point is, if you do get the 3 red rings, they will fix it.
