hello some advice from a hamster owner..i named my haster after what i lyke which is dollar....ur hamster will need'a cage, bedding , food , food bowl , hamster wheel , some things he can chew on to make his teeth stronger , and if u want him to have some fun put riped pieces of paper in his cage he will lye chewing on it myne does..but make sure the paper ur giving him is not a newspaper ink can be really harmful...if u want u can buy or make youre hamster tunels lyke from paper rolls oo yeah i almost forgot a water botle and some treats would be good my hammy loves them and i hope urs will to...i know it seems lyke a lot but its not..and buy him a balll he can walk in around the house

Things you HAVE to have: Cage Water bottle Food and Food Bowl Wheel Bedding/Shavings no cedar or pine unless pine is kiln dried. Chew Toys popsicle sticks are good or a washed very well twig. hey try this website petplanet.co.uk they sell cages that come complete and exciting for your little critters. also they sell bulk saw sand very cheap. which you'll need loads of.

you'll need a wheel in the cage, dont get the wheels that have the spaces in between the lines, if you get that one, your hamster will have a greater chance of breaking its legs. for beginners, syrian hamsters are most recommended. a wheel is the funnest toy for a hamster, but you can use a toilet paper cardboard thingy and let them play with it. some have lots of fun with it, mine didnt tho. some names are cookie, jiffy, cotton, nibbles, fluffy. the brand of food i found best for hamsters is "LM ANIMAL FARM" dont get food from wal mart though, i bought it once and it looked disgusting.. hope thsi helps. watch out for a disease called "wet-tail," if you rhamster gets this it will be lethargic, wont eat or drink, wont stretch or groom, and it will diarrhea. when your hamster gets this, bring it to a vet that has experience with hamsters, as some are very very stupid, or you could go to PetSmart and buy this product called Oasis Wet-Tail Plus. here is a very good website for hamsters: http://www.breadonthewaters.com/hamsters.html#KJR4
