How do you tell a boy guinea pig from a girl?

How do you know if your guinea pig is a boy/girl? how can you tell?

    It's very hard to tell by just looking unless your pig is a full grown adult. Pick your guinea pig up, hold it under the arms so it's in a position like it's standing on it's back two feet. Hold your other hand around it's back side. Use your thumb to put a small amount of pressure right above the area where it's genitals are. When you do this one of two things will happen. If it's a female the genitals will simply spread a bit with the pressure. If it's a male, his penis will pop out a bit. I know it's gross but it's quick and simple. It shouldn't hurt your guinea pig if you use a minimal amount of pressure. I've done this many times. Good luck!

the same way that you check if a dog or cat is a boy or girl, but you cant really tell untill there an adult so the male will be a little larger, some say that the male is mor active then the female but i dont know if that is true

well usually at the pet store they have the males and females seperated to make sure that there arent unsespected baby guinea pigs. so when you got it , it should have said weather it was male or female.

One has a penis, the other doesnt. Period. Just check, seriously. You cant just stare at it and find out. You have to be hands on to find out.
