How do you upload a picture to wikipedia?

How can i upload a picture to a wikipedia page.?

  • Answer:

You have to create an account first. Once you've done that look on the side bar on the left hand side of the page, and go to the bottom. You'll notice a link called "Upload file". Then you click on the specified link. E.g if you're uploading a CD cover click on "Upload single or album cover" and then fill out the required fields, Source (where you got it from) etc. Then click upload and the file will be uploaded! However if its a copyrighted image and u haven't filled it out correctly or if its not being used in an article, then it'll get deleted after 7 days.

You don't really need a wikipedia account, but it makes uploading much easier. If you don't have a wikipedia account or your account is not 3 days old, visit this page describing how to upload a file without account: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Images_for_upload If you already have a wikipedia account that is three days old, just try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload. There you can fill in the required information and upload your file. ATTENTION: Take care of the license. You can't upload photos/drawings/pictures that are under copyright. There's a image use policy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Image_use_policy
