How do you upload, place, and caption pictures on wikipedia?

i recently added a article to wikipedia.org and i want to put pictures, and the way wikipedia explains it is not very user friendly. so can anyone show me the ropes?

I'm having difficulty with this myself! Make sure they satisfy the fair use doctrine thing wikipedia has if it's a non-free image. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Non-free_content The people on wikipedia are pretty nice about helping newbies like myself out though.
