If I upload a picture "I took" on wikipedia is it copyrighted? I know people can save it but do I own it officially?
-
Answer:
It is your intellectual property, so you do own it. However, you've got very little power over that image. You can't really sue someone for using that image because you're not going to know how they're using it. In the event that you found someone using it, there's not a whole lot you can do about it, because you uploaded it into public domain. If it's a photo of an actual object, you won't have much, if any, legal rights around it. You'd have more power over a logo or picture of your own design, especially if it was a registered trade mark.
