Honestly, I am not sure you can - I know for a fact you used to be able to. However, now with the "new" Facebook I have not been able to find a way. So I am not sure it is an option anymore. (I know you can block it from showing up when people search you, but not once you accept their friendship request.)

create two account same username in the first one u can keep some set of frends and in another u can keep another set of frens

there is a way but am not sure coz I have been trying to find it. Its using application so browse for applications that cannot show ur friends list.

if you don't want everyone to see you on facebook i think that you have to create a limited account, so only the people you choose can see your file and your friends. hope this helped from princess x
