Is Facebook Profile Spy a Virus?

Can someone explain to me what the new "Facebook profile spy" thing is?

    It is real........a real scam. Do not go there! If you find a link for this app it takes you to a questionnaire that you must fill out first, just a survey thing. Then it ask for your cell phone number. Then it takes you to the app page and when you click allow it installs something on your computer and gives you nothing in return. From what I have researched it supposedly will bill your cell phone for bogus charges and is very hard to cancel. I also heard it can crash your computer. I spent almost an hour trying to find the download to get it off my computer. Don't go there! Save your computer and your time.

I was wondering the same thing, so I asked the same question and found out it is spam designed to infect with a nasty virus.

Profile Spy is a scam, pure and simple. It's there to trick you into providing your personal details, either so they can sell them, or use them maliciously. Don't trust it or any other app/group claiming to have this ability. It is a scam. It gives your computer viruses, bills you for ridiculous money and steals your personal info. If you see that question again, report it for the sake of yourself and others!
