What is the best university for Masters in Construction Management?

Management of (construction) projects..which university?

  • Hi everybody. I have applied to the following universities... MANCHESTER (Management of Projects) READING (Construction Management) LOUGHBOROUGH (Construction Management) BIRMINGHAM (Construction Management) QUEEN'S BELFAST (Construction and Project Management) ...and I received unconditional offers from all of them. Of course,I need a University which is solid academically, but i am  particularly concerned about which will lead me to better job prospects.  I do not really care about the nightlife etc..that is a sacrifice I am  ready to make.. Waiting for your comments. Thanks in advance

My experience was an unusual one, but could work very well in today's economy, that is to attend a college in a location and for the amount of hours that will allow you to work in or in a related field that you want to be in when you graduate. This may be a very unusual answer but individuals with degrees and many degrees are becoming more and more common, what will set you apart from the rest is a degree with some experience. If working part time while attending college is not an option internships become even more critical. The other advice I would give is try to be more specific with your Project Management goal, i.e. do you want to manage construction projects?, Information Technology Projects?, Process Improvement Projects?, this may help you have more success as the ability to be a good project manager increases significantly if you have some experience in the field you are managing. For example if you are going to manage construction, you may want to work part time in a construction related field. Same for Information Technology. This may also help you find a college/degree in one of these technical areas and then get certified in Project Management to compliment your technical degree which could be viewed equal or better in the job market.
