How to get MSN back to normal?

First you will have to remove Windows live 2011 by going to -start - control panel - add/ remove programs and uninstalling it in its entirety. Then visit filehippo com, a good and safe website. About halfway down the page on the left is a box entitled "messaging and chat". In that click on Windows live essentials 2011 and a menu will appear that gives you the choice of the latest or any previous versions. Install whichever one you wish. Best of luck, Bob.

You need a program called 'Zapmessenger' to remove all versions of Windows Live Messenger, here's a link to it's creator's website where you can download it. http://www.jonathankay.com/ Then you need to find an earlier version, such as Windows Live Messenger 2009. Here's a download link for it but I haven't tested it myself, as with all links that people post you should scan the download for malware: http://g.live.com/1rewlive3/EN/wlsetup-all.exe However you may still find that annoyingly Microsoft keep sending a popup to your computer that opens your browser on the page that offers you their new and dreadful Windows Live Messenger 2011, it keeps happening on my computer and thousands of other people's. If it doesn't stop happening then I'm going to uninstall all Windows Live products and start using Yahoo messenger instead, I'm sick of Microsoft, their stupidly overcomplicated updates and their Big Brother attitude. Hopefully if they continue to include trojan downloaders for their advert ridden junk in Windows Update then the antivirus companies will classify Windows Update as malware and their software will remove it from our computers. I suggest that you make a restore point before doing any of the above.

Go to Control Panel, then Programs And Features. On the left hand side of Programs And Features, click View Installed Updates. You should be able to uninstall the update from here.
