On msn why are my new contacts already blocked?

Why are all my MSN contacts blocked? How can I fix this?

    - Go in to Mac Messenger Preferences - Navigate to the Privacy Pane - Untick "Only users on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages. Block all other users" - Click OK - The icons on your contact list should change now, but they may still say "Blocked" alongside them. Quit Messenger and restart to clear this. After you have done this, you may have to go and block all of the people on your contacts list individually, then unblock them. If all goes well this should put a fix to your problem. Hope I helped!

hey!! I had the same problem 3 days ago! thanks for letting me know to how to fix it!

easiest way to fix the problem is to click on "clear account history" in the window where you would type in your email address and enter your password, hope it works for you too.

exactly! and btw i cant find the microsoft messenger cache.plist .. i dont think its there? would it have a different name? cuz this is extremely annoying!

Sorry that this isn't an answer, just wanted to add my sympathy to the issue. I'm suffering the same problem since this morning as well. I followed Chris' advice too and it cleared the blocked issue, however I now have to accept everyone who's email begins with an "A" through "K". This is beyond a nuisance. Thanks for trying to find a solution for us!
