Is it possible to know if someone is appearing offline on msn?

Hi, When you set the status as offline and if one of your contacts opens the chat window (to chat with you), there will be no message at the top. If you are really offline, it displays the message "[email protected] appears to be offline. Messages you send will be delivered when they sign in. HTH.
