  It's very basic once you get used to it. Ok when you sign into windows live messenger and it loads up the page which includes all your contacts on the top of that page there is a grey bar that says: file,contacts,actions,tools and help. Click tools and then click on options. A box will appear saying type your name as you want to see it. When you type your name in the box go down to the ok button. Your display will then appear as you want it. To do your messenger picture. Enter a instant chat.(Where you talk to someone). When you enter a chat a arrow will appear by your current avatar. The arrow will be in a small grey box pointing downwards. click the arrow and then click show all. When all your current avatars appear click browse will is located above the remove button. Then you are able to add a picture. Once you add the picture. Scroll through all the pictures which are already on until you find the desired one and press ok.
