Google earth with no internet?

When I open Google earth (downloaded) am I still using internet bandwith?

    Of course you're using bandwidth. Gogle earth is on the internet - just because you downloaded and installed it on your system doesn't mean you're not on the internet when you open it. Anything - whether its a picture that is viewed on flickr or snapfish, or an application that lets you view addresses on earth. Even your anti-virus uses the internet to scan your computer.

Google Earth does work offline mode to, Put it this way if it requires the internet to function it uses bandwidth. In Google earths case it does if its not cached. Just take off your cable and use and see. Any service, netflix, hulu, xbox, PSN, everything uses bandwidth unfortunately.
