How to get job in Google,Yahoo,Apple like companies?

    So these companies get hundreds or even thousands of resumes a day. The good news is they usually have tons of openings. The bad news is there's a lot of competition for the high paying jobs. I can tell you that a CS degree will be VERY helpful if you want to do development but experience is also valuable, especially development at scale- there are more things to consider when you're coding for a 10 billion page view a day website compared to a 100,000 page view a day site. These companies can cherry pick because they often have a lot of choices. That said, competition for experienced talent is fierce in Valley so if you're good, you have a good shot.

My cousin worked for Obama in the white house for 5 years after studying political science at Harvard. his wife worked with Hilary Clinton and studied the same subject at Cambridge. They both recently got hired by Google 2 months ago and moved from D.C. to California. Google is training them in software engineering and collecting and analyzing data. I think they got the job just because they both knew the president personally.
