How do you adopt in Kenya?

How old is to old to adopt?!?

  • My father is 55. After the Haiti earthquake, he realized how badly he wants to adopt. He knows that it'll take years to adopt from Haiti, but he feels like he should help a child ...show more

  • Answer:

If your dad REALLY wants to help a kid in need, then he needs to be looking at the poor gits stuck in your local area's foster care and ageing out because no-one wants to adopt older kids - those are the kids that truly need someone to help them and care for them.

i don't think it would be fare to the child if they where say 3 yrs old and their mom was 60... by the time the kids graduates mom will have been long gone... i agree that older people should be able to adopt older kids... it just really seems to make sense

my mother was 56 when she adopted her boys (from Haiti, the age limit they had was 56 at the time). that was two years ago. she is now 58 and her boys are 15 and 13. i know with her they would only allow the adoption of older children (which was what she wanted) since she was older herself. i am not sure about other countries. some countries have weight limits too... my sister was unable to adopt from china because she is obese... she adopted two girls from Haiti instead, also over two years ago

Only 2 at home during the day!!

i think that is great for him want to do that. adoption is a long process and they make it so difficult for a family to adopt with so many rules to be elagable when anyone can get pregnant and have a baby so i dont get why they make it so hard to adopt when there are so many wonderful people like your father that want to take in children that have nothing. try calling an adoption agency and unless the child was already a orphen i think there is the debate going on that the kids shouldnt be adopted yet because if the parents were to come up after missing there would then be problems good luck on everything

It varies by the state, but most adopting parents are between the ages of 25 and 40. Each adoption agency will have there own gide lies, but age is only part of the equation. The health of the people looking to adopt play a bigger role then age.

To adopt in Haiti, couples should be between the ages of 25-50. This is a law. Check into adoptions within your own state/country, then maybe Africa and poverty-stricken Caribbean islands/Latin America. (Peru, Honduras, Jamaica, Venezuela, Costa Rica, etc.).
