Nascar nation will you be able to watch the race?

All is well here...thank you KIA...still hot, muggy and no breeze...I would like some rain to cool things off but doesn't seem to be in the cards...or clouds rather... Being in a storm/flood is no fun as we were in one in 2006...water filled my basement and 4" on the first floor. These natural disasters are getting to be more and more common and we can only hope and pray that no one that we know and love (even if we battle about racing) is in the middle of one. However, I have a friend in New Zealand and they just had a earthquake of 7.0.

First of all thank's for being a caring human being. I spent Thursday at the beach watching the rip current's caused by Earl and the only folk's enjoying that was the surfer's. The life guard's are having fit's. I only went in up to my waist and the undertow was plenty strong. No problem with the t.v. and the racing should be great. Enjoy!!

No worries here unless my dish happens to go out. Im looking forward to all this weekends racing. Not just Nascar but the NHRA US Nationals are this weekend too. Its heaven for a racing fan like me and the misses.

I'm out here in Calif, with the usual boring weather. But I use to remember going out on the beach right before a storm back in the Carolinas or Florida, and then right after, talk about seashells. Glad everyone seems to be okay, spoke to some of my friends in NC who are going to the beaches this weekend, they say all is well, just rain and wind. Will be parked in front of the big screen most of the weekend, IRL race, Nationwide race, NHRA, and the Cup race on Sunday.. Happy Labor Day, everyone. Go Dale Jr.

earl is no biggie anymore. it was a scary cat 4 this time yesterday, i have to admit i was nervous. it's down to a cat 1 now and hopefully by the time it gets to the northeastern US it'll be down to a TS. i'll pray for everyone up there. i know maggie lives somewhere in new york state. hopefully it won't affect her much if any. it's windy and rainy here right now as i'm waiting for earl to finish pulling away from the coast. it's supposed to be clear here within a couple of hours and then we've got a beautiful weekend ahead. i won't be able to watch any of the races live because i'll be working all weekend. AMF (american music festival) at the va beach oceanfront tonight and sunday with pat benatar, REO speedwagon and many, many more (lady antebellum is in town tonight also at a different venue, wish i was working that one) then i have a 14 hour day tomorrow at ODU's first football game of the season. (old dominion university) it's a big deal here locally because last season was the first year they've had a football team since 1940. i'll tape the cup race sunday night and watch it monday.

I'll be ok where I am but i'm sure my Grandma and Uncle that live in Nova Scotia will have bigger worries. I just hope the horses don't take off like last time.

I'll be fine where I live (Utah) but it's currently on it's way to my hometown (Nantucket, MA).. Family members tell me that it's not going to be AS bad as they were anticipating, but are still prepared for the worst. Stay safe all ... The Dixie Chicks song "Goodbye Earl" .. lol..

Should be able to watch the cup race on Sunday, storm should be long gone by then, but I hope there is no major flooding and that everyone is alright.
