WOW! you can have so much fun with this! First do a little research. What grows here in Colorado may not be suitable or the right climate for where you live. Is your planting site on the north or south of your house? More sun is better usually for flowers or veggies, but some plants prefer a little shade at the height of the day. Learn a little about your soil type. Like sciencegravy stated, start small. Check out images on Google (or your favorite search engine) about container gardening or vertical gardening and raised beds to maximize space. And be creative! If your soil is bad, containers and raised beds solve that problem because you can amend the soil more easily. You can make containers and beds out of almost anything...cinderblocks, wood, pallets, plastic containers...and if you live somewhere where it rains, you can channel rainwater from your gutters to help water your plants. Facebook has some great pages too, like Container Gardening Alliance and Vertical Veg for tips and ideas.
