Missions are a personal favorite and I enjoy riding in them. They've got good flex in the backing and like you said, response. However, the capstrap isn't really needed--it is comfortable, but you can get bindings that can be used as both--over the foot or capstrap, but a binding like the mission is only useable with the capstrap. I've never ridden freestyles, but if you're worried about the strap, try some bindings on in the shop with your boots or rent if you can before you buy.

Well im not quite sure what the other guy was talking about, the Burton freestyle is pretty cheap compared to most bindings...I WOULD recommend going with the Mission because of the toe strap, I currently ride on the Cartel's(HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) and the toe strap makes a world of difference for me, it holds your foot far better on both heelside and toeside turns....
