    I agree, you need to consider all those factors and the best way is to try before you buy. Most board manufacturers make specific boards for girls. I think the theory is that ladies tend to be lighter and so don't need boards that are so stiff. But then there is nothing to stop you going for flexible men's board. For what its worthy my girlfriend tried quite a few boards and fell in love with the Salomon Ivy. She is beginner going on intermediate and she just feels most comfortable and confident with this board. Good luck with your search.
