Is the burton poacher jacket for snowboarding a good buy?

    Unless you find something made by Burton from the early to mid 90's..then quality is a negatory. For what you paid you can find any other brand but at a much better quality, durability, waterproofing, and breathability... the only thing i've ever bought from burton were my second pair of pants back in '95 and they were fine. I made the mistake of buying another pair last month and as much as it claimed to be water proof the damned thing soaked through!! Luckily REI has good return policy.

No its not, I looked up the specs and the breathability is only 5 k and the waterproofing is only 4 k, you might have saved some money but you're risking sacrificing warmth.
