Watch YouTube snowboard lesson videos... That's what I did. If they mention something that you don't know what it is, pause the video and google it, then continue. It's very helpful to know snowboarding terminology, for example, if you are getting lessons and the teacher says to do a toe side turn. It's helpful to know what that means ahead of time. As a beginner, try to mentally understand how the snowboard works. Especially things like edge control and balance. Here are some examples that should help: You should always keep most of your weight on your front foot. Why? Because whatever foot has more weight on it, is going to travel down the hill faster. if you start leaning back, the back of the snowboard will begin to spin. If you are a beginner, you will almost always fall. If you happen to be leaning back even further but you somehow keep your snowboard from spinning around... the front of the snowboard will partially raise off the ground and you will basically have no steering; and fall.
