What is the best kind of snowboard?

What kind/brand/size of snowboard would be best for a semi-beginner?

  • I've snowboarded maybe 7 times before over the years, but this season I plan on going a LOT more so I want to get my own snowboard. I've rented only Burton snowboards but I ...show more

  • Answer:

Helmet - you dont "need" a helmet as it is not required by most ski places. I do see more and more people starting to wear a helmet though. A few years ago, helmets were looked at as sort of nerdish, but that is starting to change as more people wear them. Personally, I think you should get one. Helmets are warmer than hats and when you put your goggles on your head when wearing a hat, your body heat tends to go through the hat and into the goggles, causing some fogging, but this doesn't happen with helmets. i would think you can get away with a 50 size board or so. bindings..normal..you dont have over-sized feet or anything so no wide board is required. Other then that, your choice should depend on what you are willing to spend. Generally speaking, the more you spend the better the quality is and the longer the product will last. I recommend going to your nearby ski shop. Places like that are the best to get advice while trying a number of different boots, bindings, and boards.
