    Hi, yes its good to hire untill you have got the skills sorted and to figure out if you like it or not. you will spend ALOT of time falling on your face/bum and wrists most learner injuries are broken wrists/arms (if you l are worried then you can sometimes hire or buy wrist guards, and having a helmet is well worth it.) also lessons will give you a great start to snowboarding and also gives you tips on preventing hurting yourself. Snowboarding is an amazing sport once you are good at it but crashing isn't amazing so take it easy while your learning and have fun :) also i have taken friends snowboarding for the fist time who were great skaters but it didn't seem to help much.
