Is it cheaper to buy parts for a snowboard or buy a snowboard pre made?

I want a new snowboard and i want to know which one is cheaper

Answer:
boards dont usually come "pre-made" (a "complete" snowboard is a better term. You buy the Board, the boots and the bindings. You can save money by doing either one....Snowboard companies dont usually sell complete sets, but many online stores do (the-house.com, ccs.com, eternalsnow.com) and these are generally good deals. Im assuming you are new to snowboarding, so you prolly dont need top of the line stuff. Companies like K2 and M3 have good beginner boards, while companies like burton, rome and ride have excellent boards ranging from cheaper beginner boards to expensive pro models. Personally, i would buy everything separate. I would buy the board i liked the most, then choose boots that are comfortable. Lastly, i would buy bindings that fit my boots well. Shop around, do some research and get to know everything. Ultimately, i would say buy everything separately (I mean, thats really how everyone who knows anything else does it)

do you mean buying the core, the wood the laminate , the rails, the metal things you screw the bindings into all separately? One, that's pretty near impossible to do, and two even if you could, how would you put it all together? I am guessing (and hoping) you mean buying a snowboard package: boots, bindings, and board all for one lower negotiated price. If you are purchasing new, and you are not picky as to what type of snowboard you buy (which if you're learning it won't matter anyway, you'll be spending most of your day on your butt) then buying a combo package might be the right way to go. You can usually pick up used boards with bindings already attached off of eBay or craigslist. I never buy used boots. Period. It's not worth the hassle of having boots that are too loose (packed down from being ridden too much already). I don't like Lamar, and there are a few other cheesy snowboard brands, but if you're not riding that often it doesn't really matter. I used to hate Burton bindings (broke on at the top of a gondola run - had to ride down without my front binding), but now they seem more reliable.
