  • Answer:

If this is the only board you have ridden it might not actually be super flexible, because you do not have a reference point with other boards, stiff and soft. Stiffer boards are more stable at high speeds, while softer boards usually feel like noodles when you are going very fast. If you like to ride the whole mountain then I would recommend a board that is like a 6 or 7 out of 10, 10 being the stiffest and 1 being the softest. This will be soft enough to do rails, and also stiff enough to go at high speeds.

Flexible boards are better for tricking and terrain parks and such. Stiffs are better for carving/trails. If you're west coast (or just like trails and such) you want a freeride (stiff), if you're east coast (or are more tricking oriented), you should probably go with a freestyle (flex). Of course you could just use one board to do everything...it's all up to the preference of the rider...Plus, if you decide to switch to a stiff, there might be a slight learning curve since you're used to a flex...
