You CAN ride it, but it will be fairly large and awkward until you grow some more. I'd also recommend not buying a board from a big box store like Sports Authority. Their boards are fairly low quality and you will likely break one in less then a season. Make the extra investment in a good company like Ride, Rome or even Burton (Last resort). You will be happy when you can still ride your board 4 years from now.
