What is a good first snowboard?

  • I've been snowboarding for 2 years and i think it's time to get my own snowboard. I need to know what some good brands are and what kind is good for beginners.

    ohhh ride is a good board. i rented 7 times until i really was sure i enjoyed snowboarding, and got my own board. my 1st board is ride, had her for 2 years ^^. just go to the ride website and surf through the site. good luck and have fun ^^ burton and k2 are good, but burton is very pricey, so if you have the money, then buy it.

The best kind of board for a beginner is one tha you wont care about ruining. As you're starting out, you're almost sure to catch some rails wrong and tear up your board a bit so I wouldnt recommend breaking the bank for your first board. My first board was a used Ride that I got for $100 and beat on for two seasons before I got a "real" board. As for good brands... LibTech, Ride, & Burton are my favorites and all are great companies... The Burton Custom X and the Lib "Skate Banana" are two of the best boards I've ever owned... or ridden for tht matter. Forums and 5150's are also nice... though I think 5150 is actually owned by Ride now... Edit @ pikachu, or puppy power, whatever... Anyone who says Burton puts the "suck in vacuums" proves definitively that they dont know a damn thing about riding... Especially if they think K2 is better. There's a reason some of the best in the world ride Burton. Who rides K2...
