How to Attach a Binding to a burton snowboard?

Will burton snowboard binding work with any snowboard?

  • burton has the 3 hole bindings and my snowboard has the holes had go like ::::: im curious if thats going to be a problem

  • Answer:

The Burton thing is a little irritating if you have a Burton board and would like to buy another binding; but most companies make a plate that is 3d compatible... and it's not necessarily about adopting a standard. A 3 hole pattern is able to hold up to strain better than a 4 hole pattern... the reason being with 4 pressure points set up in a square the pressure can only be distributed on 2 points at a time... either its on the 2 towards your toes, the 2 towards your heels or to either side. But 3 points can distribute the pressure evenly between all 3 points. It's just geometrically a stronger shape.

nope its not. burton boards have a 3 hole pattern. only burton makes bindings with a 3 hole pattern too, but they also have a regular pattern on them (looks closely at the mounting plate, youll see both the 3 hole and the regular hole holes) this means you can use a burton binding on any board but if your board is burton you can only use a burton binding. but ya know thats bussiness and i think burton boards and bindings are both good so i dont mind.

You will need to get 4-hole discs for your baseplates if you want to mount those bindings on any deck that isn't a Burton. Yet another reason to stay away from Burton products. They can't just adopt the industry standard, which is a PROVEN standard. It's just a ploy to dupe consumers into thinking that, if they have a Burton deck, then they MUST get Burton bindings, and vice versa.

it depends on the binding. they have replacement centerpieces. most bindings already come with it in the box. if not just check your local sporting good store and get one. they should give it to you for free
