A nude sports bra would be fine. It'd be a little visible, but it's not the olympics, no one cares if it's a little bit visible. Why aren't clear straps an option? They're easy to get from any dance store, and are actually made to go underneath outfits like that. What about a nude bodysuit? Dancers and gymnasts wear them regularly, and they're designed to go underneath more revealing costumes. That would also solve the underwear issue. Doubling the mesh would not fix any problems. You'd just end up looking a little odd. If underwear is giving you a wedgie, you'd be better off not wearing it. You don't want to be pulling at your bum during a program (it's not a deduction, but it is very unattractive). Most skaters I know (myself included) just wore tights, then put the dress on over the tights. Some ice dancers didn't even wear tights (wouldn't recommend this for free skate). The colour of the underwear isn't an issue; it's the fit. Underwear isn't meant to be twisted and moved around the way that you move when you're skating, and if you're wearing it, it will move around and be uncomfortable. If it's 'that time of the month', I strongly recommend you try tampons. I can guarantee you that in a tight skating dress with a flimsy skirt, a pad will show. I've seen it too many times to count; it looks ridiculous. Wearing underwear or not makes no difference. The only way you can get away with it is in an ice dance dress, or if you're just stroking and not jumping/spinning/spiralling. Don't worry, I understand being too shy to ask :) One of my first questions on this site (years ago…) was about what to wear underneath a skating dress that had a dropped back and v-front (of course, designed by a man).

The mesh on that dress looks pretty thick so you should be good with a sports bra. If yours shows when you get the dress bring it with you to a bra store and have them help you find one that you can't see. As for the underwear, there is nothing worse than seeing your underwear poking out from the bottom of your dress. There are judges who take off points for that because it's distracting and ugly. If it's your time of the month you can still go panty less by wearing a tampon and an ultra thin pad in your tights. But I have sat on that judges stand many times listening to the judges complain about underwear hanging out and taking off points. *and why spend $130 on that pretty dress to ugly it up with underwear hanging out everywhere??
