Grinding a rail on skis????

i can slide a box on skis but i seem to stop about half way on the box i think im going fast enough. Is it ok for your front ski starts to carve into the rail i dont know how to ...show more

your edges shouldn't really dig into the rail at all. you could catch an edge and hurt your head which would be bad. I would suggest detuning your edges with a diamond stone or gummy stone. or just take it into a shop and ask them to detune them for you. Also come in faster. you should get boxes dialed before you hit rails it will be alot easier
