  Well IF you want to go fast and carve really nice turns you probably want an alpine or racing type ski. If you are looking into getting in the terrain park you want a twin tip. They are getting very popular here in America. But, I have a twin tip that I use all around the mountain, in the park, in the trees, packed runs, and even in the backyard. But as far as brands go, K2 Salomon, Rossignol are your good all mountain kind of brand and racing. But as far as the skiing goes here in North America, It is pretty diverse. I love skiing in the rockies and they have some sweet mountains there but there is some skiing on the east coast as well as the west coast. It depends where you live.
