How to do a ski jump?

Is there a way to tell how fast you should go off a ski jump?

  • Is there some special trick or method for gauging how fast you should go off a jump in the terrain park? I've been finding I always either over or under shoot the jump.

  • Answer:

It really depends on the size of the jump. If it's big, you need a lot of speed. You need common sense to do something like that. If you go slow on big jumps, you're going to crash. There's no like mph or anything, just go fast enough to feel cold wind on your nose. :-)

depends on the jump, the smaller ones you go slower the larger ones you go a little bit faster. you definitely don't want to start flying over them at full speed or you end up shooting over the jump, the landing and end up landing on flat ground and that hurts

Take the first jump slow then you'll know how much faster you'll need to go. Once you have been jumping for a while you will get the hang of it so just practise and eventually it will become easier to judge.

It depends on your height and weight but if i was you i would go off a just the right speed.

Experience and practice, practice, practice. Start a little slow so you do not out jump the landing.
