What is the best of the smaller ski resorts in Lake Tahoe, CA area?

    I loved Kirkwood, but not sure how their classes are. It's also fairly advanced terrain, although a couple of the people I was with were intermediate and they had fun. I found the crowds at Heavenly and Squaw valley were not bad even though both are big resorts. And the skiing was fantastic. It was really cool to ski from Nevada to California at Heavenly - with the "Welcome to California" sign at the side of the run.

I love Northstar myself. The back runs are long and awesome. I have never skied Mt. Rose but have heard it is a great mountain.
