  • I've been looking online for ski boots. I wear size 11.5-12 nike shoes but when I measure my foot it's 10.5 cm. when I look on a chart it says that's a size 7.5 in mens ...show more

  • Answer:

Don't do it. Never buy boots online. Worst thing to do. Go to a ski shop and be professionally fitted for boots. They can do things to the boot you can't do when you buy them online. Boots are suppose to fit your foot and ankle like a glove. Also, ski boots when you try them on are suppose to be very tight. The bootfitter can always stretch the boot shell out. However, there is nothing anyone can do if the boot is too big. With a good bootfitter, it should take 3-4 hours to find the right boot and get it fitted for you.

Ski boots should not fit like sneakers, you need a close fitting boot that can respond quickly. You should go to the ski shop and get fit for boots. Each brand fits differently so you really need to try on several different brands, wear them a bit in the shop before you decide what to buy. Unless you live in Yellowknife and can shop only by mail order. Size 7.5 seems way too small going down from an 11.5. You may need to go one or two sizes smaller from your shoe size, the smallest you'd probably get is a size 10. If you are an adult I think your measurements are off, 10.5 cm is only 4.14 inches. 1 inch = 2.54 cm.
