What headphones are best wen u r skiing?

I almost never ski with my headphones on. I think it's a hassle to turn the volume up and down when I'm on the lift talking with my buds. On the odd occasion when I do use them, I use JVC earbuds. I needed something with a micro-jack and they seemed to have good sound for a lower cost. I wear them under my helmet and have never had an issue where they fell out. My mp3 player is a few years older and was "designed" for outdoor & trail use. I have to say that the "sport" headphones it came with sucked.

don't think u should be wearing head phones skiing....u won't hear if anyone is warning u of any danger... do people acctually ski with head phones on?????

i use cheap ear buds, my helmet keeps them in place. I wear them all the time. unless i;m wrong, deaf people are allowed to ski ergo its simple enough to be aware of your surroundings for all you haters out there. i use this gadget called the accenda voice control. it attaches to my ipod and the wiring goes from my glove through my sleeve to the pocket and the headphones wire around like the jacket is designed. the voice control is on my glove. i say "ipod" to activate it. then give a command. volume up or down control next track previous track rewind stop music play music ... whatever i want it to do. i have total control of my music just by speaking toward the box. (about 1 1/2 " sq x 1/2 " deep) i can talk on the lift. i can hear ski patrol telling me to slow down and the box doesn't get in my way at any time. its not waterproof and I've been through lots of wet and snow gun conditions....not broken yet. i got it at b u y , com .very cool and easy to use.

What are you all talking about? At least half the people in the western ski resorts ski with headphones on. I do it all the time. What you need to look for are headphones with a button control that lets you pause the music (and restart it) with your gloves hand. Some also allow you to skip songs and control volume without getting the device out. What I don't recommend are headphones that get pushed into the ear canal. You won't hear anything that goes on around you and when one falls out it's a pain to put it back in (plus I think it's a little gross). A simple pair of ear buds with pause control will do. Apple has a variety of headphones like that.

i wouldn't think any headphones where good, how you gonna hear if there is an avalanche
