I'm going on my first ski trip pretty soon, and I have no idea what you are supposed to wear. Can somebody make me a list of everything? I'm not talking about actual equipment, just ...show more

Answer:
You will want the following: Long johns turtle neck sweatshirt ski jacket(waterproof) snow pants(waterproof) long warm socks(i suggest wearing 2 pairs to keep your feet extra toasty) cloth gloves ( wear under waterproof gloves) waterproof gloves(wear over cloth gloves) a hat or ski helmet scarf(optional) Just remember the idea is to layer layer layer so if you are hot you can just take off the jacket, sweatshirt, ETC. Another key thing is pull your pants over your ski boots to prevent snow from getting in them Have Fun!!!

Tops: Undershirt, t shirt, thin jacket, jacket(maybe), coat. Bottoms: Leggings, sweats, good snowpants. Gloves: Hand-warmers, thin knit gloves, water proof gloves. Shoes: 2 pairs of socks, thick or medium, no thin ones, and just skiing boots. Also need: Hat, head band thing, scarf, goggles or sunglasses, helmet if your clumsy.

You'll want to start out with a set of long johns or thermal underwear. Layer on a cotton pair of socks with a wool pair over the top. Put on a pair of snow pants and a down jacket. Wear mittens, not gloves (fingers stay warmer in mittens). It's essential to wear a hat, too. I like ski goggles but you could also wear a pair of sunglasses that are made for sports and are shatter proof. If you do that, I'd advise a band to put around your neck so you don't loose them if you fall! Since this is your first ski trip, I'm assuming you don't know how to ski so you will probably spend a lot of time with your butt on the ground! You see a lot of people wearing only a sweater or sweatshirt and ski pants but this isn't a good idea until you know how to ski. You'll work up a sweat when you're skiing but when you're on the chair lift or just learning how to ski you'll be going slow and won't heat up as fast. I would not plan on wearing anything loose like a scarf. A neck warmer is fine but anything loose could catch on the chair when you're getting off the lift. You've got enough to think about. . . you don't need to worry about getting hung up!
