Good question! And great to see someone who knows a bit about the science of "Kirlian photography" instead of being mired in only myth and legend. A fresh tomato is a solution of free ions, an electrolyte basically. It's acidic and there's plenty of plus/negative charges floating around. After you cook it, the electrolyte is at least partially cooked off. I think this is why you see a difference. As an interesting side note, an inanimate steel plate will produce a Kirlian "aura". A steel plate doesn't have a "life force", was not alive, has no "spirit", etc. So much for the idea that Kirlian photography shows a person's aura or "life force", whatever that is supposed to be. EDIT: Gillian, that's a myth about losing 2 lbs directly after death. Actually, the myth is 21 grams, not 2 lbs. T.R. is pretty much right on, if the tomato was actually dehydrated, the results may be even more drastic. I would be curious as to what the change would be between a fresh and frozen, or between fresh and pickled...

from an aura stand point.... less life force in the slightly cooked tomato. The raw tomato has a fresh, vibrant energy around it, but in the cooked tomato, it's "life force" is less. Black spots in your aura are severe injuries, a tomato is/was techincally a living thing. just another perspective. EDIT: says you, wush... says you. I see the world a bit differently. If you don't, then that's your problem, not mine.

How many pictures were taken? Are you basing this on two pictures only? If you really want to be scientific here, you need a much larger sample set. And also, I've seen Kirlian photos before, and these look a lot more like photoshopped. Make sure you do them yourself next time to be sure.

I agree that more research needs to be done but I do find it interesting that the raw tomato is changed by being cooked. As if we didn't know that already. I learned in biology that cooking is actually called denaturing.

everything is made of energy so it has a energy field because it is .even the inanimate objects have it cause are made of atoms and other particles when you cook tomato you change his atomic structure so it becomes modified and change his stricture and it's glow.

Many years ago, I heard about Kirilian photographs being taken of trees - before they were cut down, then during and afterwards. The same photographer, a Russian I was told, also took Kirilian photos of tomatoes, before they were picked, during and afterwards. The results were staggering - it seems the trees / plants could sense the danger! (Perhaps that explains why Prince Charles + many others talk and / or play music to their plants... perfectly possible those people are not "nutters" as newspapers would have us believe!) Ah! There's more to this thing we glibly call: Life! - as if that has no real meaning, or great significance. For example: Scientists, I understand, have yet to explain why it is the case, when each of us passes away, each body weighs 2 lb less. But I digress - to answer your question, I'd say a cooked tomato has less energy / life force.
