How can I get better at the 100 meter dash?

How hard would have to train to get your 100 meter dash in the 10s?

  • If someone who just started track who runs a 12:05 now, how hard every week would he have to train to get there? Also how would he have to train?

  • Answer:

Pretty dang hard. I would do lots of ab, arm, glute, and thigh workouts as well as running. If you look at the best sprinters they are muscular all over. Also, maybe do long runs broken up into periods of hard running and regular running. This will help you build muscles, stamina, and wind. If you have good stamina and wind you will be able to sprint faster for longer, and won't start getting worn out by the end of the 100. Hope this works for you good luck!

Train pretty hard o.0 I'd recommend a lot of jogging around the neighborhood, build up your endurance and gradually increasing speed over time. Work on pacing your breathing as well.
