Does putting baking soda in your face wash really work?

It does work as a natual, gentle exfoliator. I should think about a tsp should do. It's baking soda, not power...Arm & Hammer in the little orange boxes.

It is baking soda just add a little water to make a paste, also uncoated aspirins (from your dollar store) add a lttle water then apply to the area (I am assuming you are wanting to know what to put on your pimple or acne) and also buy Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask, use it as a spotter or a mask. Acne is caused by bacteria. Bacteria do not like low ph levels. Baking soda lowers ph of the skins environment.

I never heard of this either - only use it for a paste - if you have a rash or poison ivy, bug bites it takes the 'sting' out - (bee sting too).. Find a pure and natural face wash, then add a toner [witch hazel] then a moisturizing cream - repeat at night - using any 'home made' product is really to be urged with caution your face is super sensitive with the pores so close to the surface - so it's best to use something that's been tested -

Never heard of using that on your face.....unless you're talking about adding a little water and using it as some sort of scrub?? I don't know.....try an internet search or ask on the skin care boards at www.makeupalley.com. Good luck!

Whaddya mean? Does it work doing what? If you're trying to soothe a bee sting, then yes, it does work. I've tried it.

No it doesn't work. I think whoever told you that is thinking of toothpaste. Baking soda is a bleaching and anti-odor detergent. If you put it on your face it will dry out your skin and even add bleach marks and turn a stray hair or two blonde (not that that would be a bad thing), but nevertheless, would have unwanted results and not provide expected ones. DON'T DO IT!
