Why are tattoos so addictive?

Why are tattoos so addictive ?

  • I have three tattoos and I'm only 18. I started getting them back when I was 15. Now I plan on getting more. (BTW, Im a girl) Why are they addictive?

  • Answer:

There are some many reasons a tattoo can be considered addicting. Lets start with the physiological reasoning behind it. When you are tattooed, your body releases endorphines and seretonin, both neurotransmitters that relieve the pain and makes you feel kinda warm and fuzzy inside. Therefore, you assosiate tattoos with a good feeling, even if the process was painful. Secondly, as mentioned earlier, it is an expression of who you are. When you can show people that much about yourself with an artistic medium as such, it tends to be addicting in nature.

Well, they are fun, and a statement, they are creative, they become (literally) a part of you, they can be very meaningful, and more. Remember to space them though, ... you will be in your skin for a long time. Give yourself some years of growth and life between them. You will find your ideas changing and evolving as you gain some life experiences. Take your time. luck~

I wouldn't call it addictive. I'd call it shortsighted. There are multiple employers who do not want to hire people with multiple tattoos because it can be distracting.
