Actually w/continued waxing the hair will grow back LESS thick Skin has a certain amount of hair follicles, but because it grows in cycles it may seem to grow back thicker at 1st.Waxing removes the hair at the root which over time weakens it so the hair grows back finer and in some cases, not at all. Also there are some excellent hair growth retarders on the market now that can also help along w/the waxing. Hard wax is best for thicker hairs as opposed to the waxing w/cloth strips;those can be very damaging to skin. If the hair is growing back really thick and dark,it could be a sign of a hormone problem,in which case a Dr. should be consulted.

I cannot believe that people are so ignorant. Shaving, waxing, or pulling your hairs out does not cause more hair to grow back. Good hell, your hair follicles don't know how the hair was removed. It grows back the same way as before. Anyone who believes that it grows back the second time any different from its original status needs to possibly open a book and do a little reading once in a while. Geez...the future is doomed with so many morons on the planet.

To be upfront and honest, I'm black so I don't know if its different for those that aren't, but with us, it doesn't grow back in thicker it just grows back after a while. Then you just start the process over again

Absolutely false! It's an old wives tale. I've been shaving for 25 years and by beard doesn't come in any thicker than it did when I was teen. So your Mom would rather maintain a moustache than remove it for fear of a myth? Playing devil's advocate, supposed hair did come back thicker... wouldn't she remove that too? Tell sasquatch to grab a blade!

I use to have my hair stylist remove the hair from my upper lip, and she used the wax. It never grew back any darker or thicker and I've had it done more then a few times.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Cool_Cat

NO!!!! The hairs will not come back thicker or darker, like many people foolishly believe. What will happen is that the hairs will feel kind of prickly when they grow back opposed to the soft feel they once had. A good alternative is bleaching for areas like this.

Miss D

yes,the wax will make it grow thicker.i think she can blonde this area with face oxygen so the hair will be blonde and it won't be noitceable.

Rozza

Yes, this is true. Pulling hairs out doesn't make more grow, they just come in thicker and stiffer.
