Answer:
HAHA - I think it must be "Seventeen" magazine because not only does it seem to be a "fad" for girls, but also a "fad" to do it under age 18. I think I'll stick to reading "Tattoo Artist Magazine" for us mature women that already have tattoos and for the right reasons.

I have a question. If you are a guy.. why are you reading glamour and seventeen? I think people should get tattoo's wherever they want for whatever reason they want. Its not right to judge people for the location of design of their tattoo.

I have no idea. Sounds lame to me. I don't have a tattoo though, and if i got one it wouldn't be on my wrist...that might spoil my femininity!

I haven't noticed the popularity of it, at least not in my area. I have one on my wrist, I'll admit, but it's been there 2 years, and i've been drawing it on with sharpie since i was about 14. I think, however, people rely far too much on what other people do to guide their own ways, celebrities or not. Not to compare tattooing to jumping off of bridges, but in either instance, the results are usually permanent.

I completely agree with crlb. Tats on the wrist aren't necessarily a fad. It just so happens to be a place where many girls prefer to get their tats just like the lower back. If those are fads then I suppose getting a tattoo on your shoulder or forearm is a fad for guys. I've asked a lot of guys where they would get a tattoo if they were to get one and the answer is almost always shoulder or forearm. Oh, and sometimes the shoulder blade. I suppose it's more "manly" there. I just got a tat on my wrist about a week and a half ago and it wasn't because I saw it in some magazine or TV show (actually, I do read a lot of glamour magazines and I've never seen any articles relating to tattoos in the first place). I have two tattoos on my back and, like crlb, I wanted to space out my tattoos. My next tattoo will likely be on my ankle. Which, I suppose, is another "fad." But, like someone else said, so many people have tattoos on different parts of the body that no body part is really "unique" any more.

I have no idea. What country are you in? I got the idea of a wrist tattoo because I usually don't wear short sleeves, and I really don't wear revealing tops so I decided to get one on my wrist where it is visible. I might get one there with my name in Sanskrit, something I know I won't regret.

as someone who has a wrist tatt, I got mine there because I wanted it to be visible to me and because that's the spot I wanted to be. Not because of a fad. I really resent when people do that. I think someone who does something because a magazine tell them to, deserves to have a crappy tatt.

i've noticed its popular lately too. that was my next choice placement (not words or anything like that though) but now it seems like it is just like the lower back fad (which i dont have) but i got one on the back of my neck, now i see girls everywhere with one there. I dont think girls do it just because its like having the latest hand bag, it just so happens, lower back, foot, back of neck, and wrist are popular spots with girls. like the way a lot of guys start off on their upperarms. if i were to decide on my wrist, it would not be because all the lil girls running around have it and i think i would be so cool to match them, but because as much as i love tattoos and want many, i dont want places on my body to become overran by them. i like to spread them out and given them all a lil bit of their own space. if that means eventually i venture lower on my back or my wrist so be it. also i think miami ink and LA ink have something to do with it too....anyone notice a rise in females getting tattoos on their sides......(which i admit i have been working on a design for for a long while now)

What I don't understand is, it's usual some sort of quote they want to put on their wrist. My wrist is awfully tiny - do they use really, really small lettering or do they have really big wrists? If you have to go all the way around the wrist to read the quote then are you bending your arm funny to read it?

Its gotta be a mag that is only into trend setting. So anything from people mag, cosmo, seventeen. Yup Yup. So usual. Its hilarious to see the chain reactions of society with their subliminal messages. true true ♥ KC
