Trying to find a way to advertise my forum without paying money?

    Obviously, nobody that has answered has even looked at your forum, and then again, there are no pro internet marketing people answering, because if they did or are, they would tell you right off that to have a successful forum, it first has to be themed. You forum, as it is has NO direction whatever. Pick a subject you like, get the catagories setup, then worry about advertising. Now, you will get nowhere advertising your themed forum in another forum that has the same theme, the admin will ban you immediately, they will keep you from stealing their people, you can bet on that. Make sure the theme is something you love, so you will not get board with it, because it is a job once operating and full of people. Next is getting people to it. Google "PR backlink generator" it is a free blog commenting software, all it does is locate wordpress blogs by keywords and it is free. Use this because wordpress is a popular platform with loads of traffic to their blogs. Post comments on relevent blogs on your forums theme. do not advertise you link, just place your comments and carry on a decent conversation. If you do not know what to post, skip it. You can do 50 comments a day easily, you will start getting clicks the first day, and then your forum will start to build. Ask a blogger to write a review of your forum, this will help, and if you ask enough, some will do it. this will bring in visitors. Start a wordpress blog yourself, post your thoughs on your theme, there are people who share the same interest, and they will likely visit your forum. There's a lot you can do to advertise your forums: You can exchange links with other sites and forums. www.LinkMarket.com is a good place to find sites willing to exchange links with you. You can also approach webmasters one-on-one, it's been my experience that if you offer to display a link to their site if they pay in kind they'll accept. Also, choose a threads that are about a topics that you are acquainted with and write articles about it. There are sites that will publish your articles for webmasters to put in their sites and newsletters. This will give you lots of exposure. You can also post comments in other forums and blogs and place a link to your site in you signature (like you will see below in mine). This is a good way to create back links to your site. It would also be a good idea to change the layout of your site and use something other than frames. to make your site more search engine friendly I hope this was useful. Hi, I had a look at the source code of your site. Biggest thing I see is that you are running your forum using frames. Search Engines hate them and cannot/will not read them so none of the keyword rich content from your site is being found. Best way to advertise your site is to let users find it naturally in the Search Engines but that isn't going to happen if you're using frames.
