Don't worry about it. I know people who have climbed to the top. If there is any sign of recent activity or potential danger then the guides won't take you up.

It is active, but still safe to climb. It is supposed to explode in 2012!! I climbed it three years ago, AMAZING!!! Have fun!!

Yes it safe to climb but,watch out by the hole Mount Merapi.You Know Volcano had lava inside.Please Do not come to Mount merapi when it ready to erupt now and tommorow is volcano erupt. its to dangearous.
