Will it be easy to get a job as an engineer technician?

As an experienced software engineer, what is the best way to get a new job?

  • My job is comfortable, but after 4 years I'm feeling the urge to learn new things. I'm too valuable in my current job to switch in-company. What's the best way to get a new job? If I post my resume to http://Monster.com, http://Dice.com etc., I look as desperate as the 100,000 losers spamming their resume all around. LinkedIn is good for some offers from recruiters, but most of that is spam. Networking is the usual way, but sorry, I'm not a social butterfly; I know how to communicate perfectly well, but don't want to spend my time on networking; I like to concentrate on my job. Sites like http://FiveYearItch.com and http://pleasepoach.me look like a good idea: get recruitment offers without too much of a hassle. But they are not mainstream yet. Do they work? Is there another way?

  • Answer:

http://FiveYearItch.com works pretty well. I like the anonymity  and I like being able to specify the minimum they have to offer me if they want to get in touch.
