I never really prepared at all for the SAT, any section. I did discover that my math score went up by about 50 points when I used a calculator though -_- haha. But the reading section was my strong point (760), despite never having taken AP Lit or gotten much of any helpful instruction in my English courses throughout high school. For me, I'd say I did so well because I do a lot of pleasure reading. I spent a lot of time starting in middle school reading books for pleasure. I realize you don't have that much time, but I think it could still help to pick up a few books here and there to read just for you, and any time you come across something you aren't sure of the meaning of in the book, read over it a few times until you can figure it out. And when you come across a word you don't know the meaning of, try to guess from the context clues before looking it up. That aside, I think the phrasing of the questions on the SAT reading section can often be pretty confusing, so I'd suggest getting some practice tests and making sure you can understand what they are asking. Good luck.
